My Books are Closed

What does it mean when I say my books are closed? It means I am not currently taking new appointments at this time because I am trying to finish up current projects before I take on more commitments. I am only one person and I believe every tattoo deserves my full attention. I do not want to stretch myself too thin or burn myself out.

I open my books twice a year (June and December), for about 12 hours. Please subscribe to my mailing list for notifications on when my next booking day is.

If you are wanting something tiny (shop minimum) it never hurts to ask and see if I can squeeze it in. If your schedule is flexible, I often try to squeeze it in before I start my large appointments.

The one exception to this rule is if you schedule any piece from my pre-drawn design book. There can be no changes made to these pieces. This book has over 100+ designs. It is sitting on the coffee table in the lobby of the shop. You are welcome to look at it anytime we are open.

Booking Process FAQs:

Why do I keep my books closed?

I also don't feel comfortable booking my life out farther than 6 months due to my chronic illness. I want to be sure I'm healthy for myself and for you. I also want to finish all in progress pieces before I take on large new projects. I want to be sure I am committed to finishing every piece in a timely manner. I am only one person running this show. I do all of my own emails, bookings, drawings, and even this website!

When do I open my books?

Twice a year (June and December) I open my books for about 12 hours to book out the next 6 months. Please sign up for my email list to be notified when I pick a date for my books to open. I try to announce the booking date a few months in advance of when I open my books.

What is my schedule?

I currently work Tuesday through Saturday. I draw at home in the mornings. I then tattoo roughly noon to 6pm. I no longer want to tattoo late into the evenings since i have a weird dog that only eats for me. What a diva!

I do not start large tattoos after 3pm and Saturdays go first during booking days. What does this mean for you? You will likely need to request off of work, like you would a doctor's appointment.

Can we contact you when your books are closed?

You are always welcome to contact with me and consult with me to make sure your project is something that I would even be interested in or for you to be able to start saving for your tattoo. Please read below on what information is always great to include when communicating with any tattoo artist.

Do you take on every request?

Just because I have discussed your idea or had a consult with you, doesn't mean I will eventually take your project on. I read all booking requests on my booking date and choose the ideas that most closely align with the vision I have for my art. I tend to have about 3-4x as many requests as I do time. Human cloning hasn't been invented yet so I'm just doing the best I can!

Tattoos I love to do:

While I used to tattoo everything and anything that came my way, I now focus on tattoos that align more with the vision I have for my art and tattoo career goals. This does not mean I find anyone's tattoo unimportant or stupid. I simply have more requests than I can take on.

I enjoy tattooing geometric, animals, floral, and lady faces in color and black and grey. I love Japanese, feminine black and grey, and neotraditional/illustrative styles. I feel that my instagram is a good representation over the projects I consistently take on.

Yes I still do small, minimum tattoos as my schedule allows.

Tattoos I no longer do:

  • Arm or leg bands (this includes garters)

  • Tribal or large scale blackwork

  • Comic book or anime characters not redrawn in my style

  • Forest/outdoors sleeves or landscape tattoos

  • Feathers, dreamcatchers, and headdresses

  • Trying to turn your uncohesive collection into a large-scale cohesive tattoo. That ship sailed.

  • Realism!

Cover-ups

I do cover-ups of tattoos and scars on a case-by-case basis. This will be determined in your consults.

  • Scars usually must be healed for over a year

  • Tattoos that have had any laser treatments need to wait 6 months

Please be flexible when it comes to cover ups. Many designs and colors are not suitable for successful coverups/

I charge $200 an hour for coverups due to the extra prep work they require and level of difficulty they present.

Information you should include in any consultation email to any artist:

  • Description of tattoo

  • Placement on body

    • photos should be taken straight on (ask a friend or use a self timer)

    • Do not use selfies as it mirrors the space

  • Budget

Please let me know if you have any preferred pronouns or names that may differ from your I.D.
