About Me
My name is Natalie Schultz. I am a licensed tattooer based in Oklahoma City.
I have been getting tattooed since the day I turned 18. Tattooing wasn't exactly a career in Oklahoma when I was growing up (it was illegal until 2006), so it never occurred to me to pursue it. So off to college I went! I obtained my Masters of Public Health in 2013.
I also received a donated pair of lungs in 2013. After this life changing experience, I changed paths in life. I began working in a tattoo shop shortly after my transplant. I worked my way up from shop girl, to apprentice, to fully licensed artist. I have been a licensed tattooer for over 6 years.
When I started tattooing, I took on anything and everything. Now I try to focus my efforts on what I love the most. I enjoy tattooing floral, animals, and geometric in either color or black and grey. I gravitate towards the neotraditonal/illustrative styles the most. I love putting my spin on Japanese and laying out large scale geometric pieces as well.
In my free time I like to create art with markers, watercolor, acrylic, or gouache. I also enjoy a good history or science book (like the nerd that I am) and traveling.
Why raccoonpaws?
I have small, dexterous hands ... and I eat garbage food.
Mission statement:
-
I believe tattooing is a team effort and collaborative process. Consent can be revoked at any time if you are feeling uncomfortable. While I enjoy artistic freedom, I do not want to put something on your body that you do not like. Communication is key throughout all steps of the design and tattooing process.
-
The privacy and safety of my clients is very important to me. I tattoo in a completely enclosed booth with a door that can be closed for privacy.
-
My booth is a welcome space for all bodies, genders, and sexual orientations. Hateful opinions are not welcome here and can seek another artist.
-
If you need any accommodations due to a disability, I will do my best to provide you the same experience as any other client.
-
I believe in creating tattoos that will age well and stand the test of time. This means I may say no to ideas, not because I can't do them, because they don't age well.
